The Founding Partners of Liberty Square were both born and raised in the Greater Boston area. Bill Chiasson covered the eastern United States at GID for the past 27 years, while Stephen Kelly has covered the Northeast, Southeast, and Texas across multiple firms.
After Bill and Stephen met via networking in 2010, they continued to trade investment ideas and strategies over the last decade. Often, those conversations took place at restaurants in and around Liberty Square in Boston. In 2021 they began to work together on a variety of advisory projects, and decided to launch Liberty Square Real Estate Partners in 2022.

Bill is a Founding Partner of Liberty Square Real Estate Partners, where he is focused on investment strategy, investor relations/fundraising, and the acquisition business.
He has a deep resume and significant track record of acquisition experience and market knowledge, having acquired $7 billion of real estate in over 80 multi-family assets totaling over 21,000 units. He has also acquired over one-million square feet of office and industrial/flex space.
Prior to co-founding Liberty Square, Bill was most recently Senior Vice President of Acquisitions with GID Investment Advisers LLC, as well as holding various other titles during his over two decades of time there. GID is a vertically integrated real estate operating company and family office with over 60,000 units and $25 billion in assets under management. His responsibilities there included the selection, due diligence, financial evaluation, structuring, negotiating and closing of multi-family acquisitions. This also includes the providing of joint venture development capital to the merchant building community. His market knowledge is based on a long track record of operating across the country including a vast network of brokers, developers, and institutional owners.
Bill is also on the Real Estate Advisory Board at Battery Global Advisors (BGA). BGA provides customized wealth management within an institutional family office framework. He brings his expertise in advising the partners on all facets of their real estate related investments ranging from multi-family, office, industrial, storage, and development opportunities including opportunity zone development. BGA manages almost $4 billion of assets for sophisticated investors around the world.
Bill graduated from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and later earned his MBA from Bentley University.

Stephen is a Founding Partner of Liberty Square Real Estate Partners, where he leads investment strategy, financial oversight, investor relations, and day-to-day management of the company.
Throughout his 20+ year real estate career, Stephen has worked as an advisor, investment sales professional, and an Asset & Portfolio Manager for REITs, PE firms, Family Offices, and other investment firms. Leveraging this experience, Stephen has worked to create a best-in-class model for Liberty Square Real Estate Partners.
Prior to co-founding Liberty Square, Stephen was Managing Director at Grand Coast Capital Group, a real estate private equity investment and lending firm with $150 million of AUM across two funds. In this role, Stephen acted as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all day-to-day operations of both funds, including investment strategy, fund-level reporting, and investor relations. Additionally, Stephen served as Portfolio & Asset Manager for all debt and equity investments throughout the United States and Ireland.
Stephen also served as Portfolio & Asset Manager at TA Realty, a real estate private equity fund with over $10 billion in AUM. As co-Portfolio Manager for the launch of TA Realty’s $2.0+ billion Core Property Fund, he assisted in the development and execution of the Fund’s operational and investment plan, and performed domestic and international fundraising efforts. In other roles at Ernst & Young, BlueGate Partners, and RCLCO, Stephen advised developers, funds, and other investors on market selection and underwriting plus deal structuring across the capital stack.
Stephen graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in Economics and earned his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
